The Witching Hour

According to an old Pagan belief, the time between midnight and 3:00 A.M. on the night of the full moon is the “Witching Hour.” During this period, the veil between the spirit world and earth supposedly thins, allowing entities from other realms to visit us humans.

Some Christians call 3:00 A.M. the “Devil’s Hour.” Based on the idea that Jesus died at 3:00 P.M., this theory proposes that the opposite point on the clock belongs to the dark side, i.e., demonic forces whose power is strongest at this time.

Regardless of whether you subscribe to either of these concepts, you may experience unusual or inexplicable occurrences between three and four in the morning. Many people report hearing sounds or smelling aromas that have no discernable source. Others say they sense the presence of nonphysical beings––angels, spirit guides, deceased loved ones––when they wake during this eerie hour. One summer night several years ago, when my sister slipped into a coma unexpectedly, I awoke to the tinkling of tiny bells and the scent of her perfume. She died a few days later.

Researchers suggest that we reach the deepest levels of sleep between 3:00 and 4:00 A.M., and that the most vivid dreams of the night are likely to occur at this time. During this stage, our awareness may expand beyond the normal range, enabling us to perceive other levels of reality. If we’re fearful, or conditioned to believe that evil lurks in the shadows, we might interpret our early morning experiences as demonic rather than instructive.

Many of us find ourselves wide awake at, well, 3:15 in the morning. This is the time when I often do my best thinking. With nothing to distract me, I can no longer avoid whatever issues I’ve pushed aside during the daytime. In the still of the night, my subconscious finally feels free to offer up insights I might otherwise block or reject, giving me a chance to explore them at length.

I must admit, though, that I often feel alone and vulnerable in the darkest hours of the night. Problems tend to look scarier, bleaker, more formidable and beyond my control. Perhaps that’s the real meaning of the “Devil’s Hour”––when we come face to face with our own Shadows (as Jung called the repressed part of the psyche), the personal demons that lurk in our inner darkness.

Do angels or demons visit you at night? Do you find the early hours of the morning serene or sinister? We invite you to share your thoughts and experiences.

I acually have had a few paranormal activities happen in my life time... One I want to share with you is a time when I was about 10-11 yrs old and I was pushed out of my bed (Not fall out) while I was sleeping. When I awakened I heard 2-3 fairy like laughters. Like they were enjoying it. The reason I stated that I did not fall out is because I was about 7 ft away from my bed and I also woke up as soon as they pushed me. This truly frightened me to the greatest extent. Now I live in fear and WILL NOT by any means fall asleep at the (Devil's Hour).

Quite an amazing experience, Tyler! Thanks for sharing it with us.

As a child I once awoke in a dreary state. I was dreadfully scared of the dark and crawled through the house. I saw a twinkling light smaller than my hand swaying around in a hall. When I attempted to grab it I blacked out, and awoke in the mornin in the middle of the floor. A few months later we were living in a new house I awoke again in the same dreary state. Looking out my window I witnessed a much larger light dancing around an old oak outside. When I walked outside I hit a invisible barrier and awoke the next day in the tree. On a high branch, in which my parents tried to get me out of and I fell and cracked my head. When I left the hospital I never again feared the dark or seen any lights. I do quite often find my mind awaking me around 2am and not allowing me to sleep.

Very interesting experience, James. It shows how our worlds––awake, asleep––overlap and intersect. Is there really a distinction? What do you make of it al

I woke up at 3:15 am for a week straight after seeing a documentary about a string of murders that occurred at 3:15, but it stopped and recently in the last two years has occurred again but not as frequent. Well my friend told me that 3 am is the time if the holy Trinity and Satan is allowed to project hus evil unto the world only for an hour. Is there any truth to this or does anyone know enough to explain to me why my mind tricked myself into waking up everynight?

Skye Alexander said...

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm not sure if anyone really knows why this particular time of the night seems to have such an influence on us, although many theories exist. We appreciate everyone's input and ideas.

Hey, my name is Seth Mohs i am a 13 year old boy, i have a story to share. My story is once when i was 4 my grandpa died. At age 9 i had this experience that still haunts me to this day, one night at 3:15 i was aroused by a very bright light, i woke up and stared at it for a while then my grandpa walked out of it and said, take care of your mom. But he said it in a scared scream. Then i saw a horned creature grab him and pull him into the ground... I have always been scared of the ground at 3:15... I have quit having dreams but i'm still scarred...

Skye Alexander said...

Thanks for sharing your experience, Seth. An interesting dream! I'm interested in hearing more about what you describe as a "sacred scream." I assume you don't mean "scared scream" right? What does this mean to you?

After a late night New Year church service, I argued with my wife at 3 AM. On the 22nd of January 2012, I dreamt of my late grandmother, whom I was very fond, and it(since she is not alive anymore) spoke to me in mother tongue "saying don't come close to, you have rough time ahead in your life and everything around me is going to fall apart. I woke up at the time was 3:30 AM. Next night, I had a out of body experience, I could see myself trying to wake myself up while two shadowy figures was standing at the food of bed. I said the Lord's Prayer and I woke and looked at the time and it was 3:30 AM again. On feb 2, 2012, my wife and I had a major fight, and she left me. And now I am going through a divorce. This is just one instance of the madness I had to deal with this year. I still randomly wake up at the between 3 and 3:30 AM, and if its a nightmare I am dealing with, I just curse everything/anything in me and around me and go back to sleep because that's the only things that calms me down now.

Is there anything with the number 34 or 43?? Because I have been seeing that number since october and even now I see that number under "Please prove you're not a robot"

Skye Alexander said...

Thanks for sharing your experience, Allen. Sorry you've had a tough year, but it's interesting that you got precognitive information from your grandmother about what was coming.

In numerology, when you add the digits in the number 34 or 43, you get a sum of 7. That number is associated with withdrawing into yourself to gain insight or to explore inner dimensions. It can signify spiritual seeking or a desire for peace, respite, and solitude. But it's also a number of wholeness--think of the 7 colors of the visible spectrum, the 7 notes in a musical scale, and the 7 days of the week.

Good luck with the transition you're going through. May your dreams continue to guide you.

I just want to share with you a 3AM experiences i keep having! I keep experiencing a spirit that paralyzes me while Im laying in bed awake. Last night it paralized me while laying in the bed with the light on. That was a first time for that with the light on. Why is this happening? Can anybody give me some insight? I have been told Im a prophet.

Skye Alexander said...

Wish I had an answer, Eddie, but I don't know why this is happening to you. Have your asked the spirit what its purpose is? Quite an amazing experience––I hope someone else can offer some insight. Thanks for sharing it with us. If you discover more, I hope you'll let us know.

Hey Skye I have been waking up at 3:30 am on the money for a few years now. Not exactly sure why I have heard of the devils hour. I also know I have a lot on my mind at times. So with that being said I fear no evil cause The Lord Jesus Christ is with me . Why 330 exactly I don't know kind of weird . Many things have happened in my life and I have thought that an evil presence was working behind the scenes to disrupt my life. This is something that is hard for people to understand if they have no belief in god. Many of theses sites have people that try to justify or rationalize with science and that's fine I too think along the same lines . But can there be another reason for this? I just know from my experience there is not much I can do wish I could sleep till five.

I have a 2 & 1/2 year old boy who awakes EVERY night between 3 & 3:30AM. He awakes screaming about witches and ghosts trying to get him. He even described a snakelike creature with a long tongue that was after him. I googled the topic today and came across this site... I must say that it's a little worrisome for me to think that he is having these "dreams" and it just so happens to be during these hours. Just to give it a shot - I hung a "witch ball" in his window today. Lets see if we awake tonight between 3 & 3:30AM.

Skye Alexander said...

Thanks for writing. I can imagine how upsetting it must be for you and your son to awake from frightening nightmares. I hope you can get him to talk about the meanings behind his dream symbols. Snakes, for example, have long represented hidden knowledge. Ghosts and witches signify forces beyond the ordinary world and communication with supernatural beings.

Many psychologists and dream workers believe that everything in our dreams signifies a part of ourselves (yes, I know, it might be hard for a two-year-old to understand that, but perhaps you can decipher the info and gain insight into what's troubling your son). In dream therapy, people are often advised to stand up to their "demons" and ask what they want, rather than running away––can you help your son do that?

I'd also like to suggest that you not perpetuate negative stereotypes about witches and ghosts. (I'm not sure what you mean by a witch ball.) Encouraging your son understand these beings can help him realize they offer him no threat. It's possible that he's receiving nighttime visitations (not uncommon in young children who are more in touch with the spirit world than adults) but doesn't understand them and therefore finds them frightening. I hope you'll read up on such things so you can help him find peace.

Best wishes for you and your family.

After reading all these accounts of the witching hour, I know now that all these attacks I have endured over the years are demonic.
I have had compression on my chest while asleep with paralysis, been pushed off my bed many times (no injuries though), have had scratches and bruises on my body unexplained and much much more.
My faith in Jesus has kept me alive and frightened these evil beings away as best as possible. I want to re assure people out there not to be frightened but say Jesus name and in an instant stops the attack.
I would use a crucifix in the room and have holy water sprinkled in every corner of the room that one is affected,
holy water is very very powerful combined with prayer.
An orthodox monk told me that holy water stings negative spirits and after a while, they will leave the individual alone. These spirits thrive on fear. Do not be afraid as they fear Jesus and love nothing more than scaring Christians and very good souls.I hope this might help some of you out there experiencing this problem.

Skye Alexander said...

Thanks for reading and commenting. You might also try asking the spirit why it's there and what it wants. Sometimes spirits visit us and attempt to get our attention by pushing us, making noises, etc. That doesn't mean they're necessarily evil. In some cases, they may have messages for us. When we acknowledge them, they may go away.

Last summer, three friends and I stayed in a very old house where an elderly lady had recently died. All four of us saw, heard, or felt her presence. She called my name loudly, sat on my friend Lyndsey's bed, and showed herself as a ghost-like being to another friend. Several times I heard her walking around the house. She meant no harm, she was just checking to make sure we were taking good care of her beloved house.

Unknown said...

My beloved eldest sister was murdered brutally (along with her new lover) by her ex-husband in July, 1979.

I don't know what the time of death was however I was only a 6 year old.

After this my parents had bars put on all the windows; a child's reality is very different to adults (as we know) and it's half fantasy (life that is).

When I was 9 or 10, I consistently woke at night - I'm not sure it was 3am - and I believed someone would slide through the bars and stab me to death. Just as my sister had met her fate.

Interestingly enough, I am now writing a book about my life without my sister and my journey, and I often wake at 3am and write some very insightful content at this time.

I saw a psychic and she said it is your sister talking with you, and that when you get stuck for ideas take a break for 5 minutes and she will channel new ideas.

I hope so - I love her and miss her even to this day.

Skye Alexander said...

Thanks for writing, Neil. So sorry to hear about your sister. As I understand it, our loved ones often contact us through our dreams because it's too hard for them to get our attention during our busy, day-to-day existence. Good luck with your book. If you wish to share parts of your journey with us on this site, please let us know.

Last night I had a particularly vivid, terrifying nightmare. I awoke at exactly 3 AM in a panic. I grabbed my phone from my nightstand and sent a message to my brother, figuring he would see it in the morning. Not even a minute later, he replied, apparently having just woken up and s eeing my text. Incidently, I also noticed that the volume on my phone had been turned up when I texted him, but I had gone to bed with it on vibrate. J was very freaked out and couldn't go back to sleep. When I wasn't texting my brother, I would repeat the 23rd Psalms over and over. Thr night mare itself was strange but terrifying. I dreamt my brother and myself were locked in a room with skeletons in. My pastor was playing the piano from another room, a very haunting melody, but I could hear people screaming over the music. There was a shower in the room, and it was dripping something dark like blood, and I just somehow knew they (whoever they were) wanted my brother to take a shower so they could kill him. That's when I woke up, and it was exactly 3 AM when I woke up, so yeah.

Skye Alexander said...

Definitely a scary dream! Interesting that your brother awoke at the same time. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Thank you all for joining in the discussion. It's not unusual to see, hear, or otherwise communicate with people who are no longer physical. I talk all the time to my partner who left his body over a year ago, and have seen him on occasion.

Often our loved ones visit us in dreams because we're more receptive then. From what I understand, the "dead" want to stay in touch with us, to let us know they're okay, and to share their experiences with us. I've found Dr. Michael Newton's books and research in this area fascinating and maybe you would as well.

All sorts of beings exist all around us, all the time, we just don't usually see them. In the dark, quiet of deep night and when we've just awakened from sleep we're more receptive to seeing things we'd ordinarily block from our awareness. You could try talking to these entities when you see or hear them––ask who they are, where they come from, what they want, etc. You might find their answers interesting. Some of them are trickster types, some come to bring you insights. Thanks for writing!

At 3.15 am September 25 I woke up and went to the bathroom and then to get a drink of water. I always look out the window and just see if every looks normal. it did so I started back to bed and stopped in the hallway to check the thermostat and while I was looking at it got dark as if there had been a power failure.I went back to the window to look out and it was pitch black outside.outside 5 lights out no power clocks on microwave and stove operating normal Five security lights were out.In about two minutes they slowly started coming back on.My security light my neighbors security light The neighbor next to me her street light was out Two security lights at the rear of our property was out. There was no power failure. If there had been a power my clocks would have to been reset and they would have been flashing

Its nice to see others with incidents, I too wake up at 3:15 every night. So many things (too many) to explain happen at this time and its not the house I am in for it happened before this house. I know we have internal clocks and can subconsciously wake ourselves. I am of the Amityville Horror era and often wonder do I wake up during this time because of a movie or something I read? Waking up at the same time is interesting at first, then annoying and then when things happen a little bit concerning. One incident I remember being waken up by a black cat jumping over me, I look at the clock 3:15, I sigh and am about to go back to sleep and think wait a minute our cat is not black, scared I look over to my sleeping husband thinking a neighbor cat may have gotten in by mistake. I see a boy with a pale white face looking at me he then proceeds to put a white sheet into mouth...terrified I try to scream...husband wakes me...in tears I try to explain what must have been a dream...but I can't for all of my hair was balled up and in my mouth (I have long hair) so as he watched while I pulled my hair out of my mouth I look at the clock 3:15...something I could do in a dream to myself of course...but unnerving...when an incident happens it takes a while in between...I've been nudged, blankets pull tight, frozen with fear not able to move, a blue light by bathroom door (always bathroom) and the recent I get up to go to bathroom, sitting on toilet and the bathroom scale lights up on its own, I'm alone in house and just couldn't help but laugh because seriously I'm in mid stream and this happens...I call the dogs and they just sat at the doorway... would not come to me...3:15...I always watch the dogs now that they sleep in the room...I leave the light on...sleep with earplugs and always face the bathroom...I try to ignore it and for the most part that works but the times I forget my ritual of lights on etc is when something happens...I'm not religious and am skeptic...so I try to reason myself into calmness...as for my subconscious or other reason, who knows?

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Interesting stuff! I'm always intrigued by how many of us experience inexplicable things (at least according to rational thinking) in the dark of night. Dear Skye.

Hi. I wanted your opinion or advice regarding waking up at 3:30 AM with weird/dark dreams.

This is what I have noticed about myself whenever I got through these events. In my sleep, my lower back, the L4-L5 spinal segment, becomes really cold. This sensation is present every time when I wake up between 3 and 3:30 AM with bad/dark/weird dreams. It feels like some one with a frozen hand has touched my lower back skin.

I don't know why my body reacts so and I also don't know if my dreams causes this or vice versa or if I am gaining or losing some energy here.

Skye Alexander said...

Thanks for writing. As you can see from reading comments by others to this post, it's pretty common to wake up with weird dreams between 3:00 and 4:00 in the morning. Don't know what to say about the cold sensation in your lower back. That area is associated with the "root chakra," which is the energy center linked with security and survival instincts. You might want to contemplate your feelings and/or life situation regarding security to see if you come up with any insights. It is possible that you're losing energy there, and you might want to do some healing work on that chakra. You could also ask yourself for answers, either in meditation or before you go to sleep.

According to Vedic Culture here in India, the time of 3:30 to 5:30 is called Bhrama Mhurta - A sacred hour when higher evolved spiritual beings contact those fit for realization of higher truths.

If you wake up at this time, it means you are blessed. Take up meditation, and watch how your life changes!

Read and research. Here is a start:

I've been waking up at this time for years. Most often it is an answer or very useful information, and sometimes visitations. These days I go for a run when I wake up this early instead of fighting it. The clarity is amazing and a bit scary at times. I'm going with it and since I've made that decision I have no idea where it is taking me but where ever it is I trust that it is where I should be.

Thanks for your comments. I often get clarity about issues at that time too. Glad you've decided to just trust it.

I been waking up this week at exactly 3:15 am.. When i woke up i feel paralyzed and also feeling chest compression. Im just worried of the thing why im waking up in this times and really exact 3:15.. I also noticed that i forgot what i dreamt after waking at this time.. Can anyone help me explain everything..

Skye Alexander said...

You may experience these things when you wake at 3:15 because part of your consciousness has been out journeying elsewhere in the universe. Some dream researchers say that a piece of your energy leaves the body to explore other realms while you sleep, but it remains connected by a "silver cord" so it won't get lost or separated from your body.

You may hear this referred to as astral travel in some sources. You can't move and you feel compression in your chest until the journeying part fully reunites with your physical body. Don't worry, it's a natural process and enables you to gather information that you wouldn't be able to get while awake (even if you don't remember it). You may want to read about astral projection/travel and lucid dreaming. Thanks for writing!

I have been waking up from 3am to around 3:30 for as long as i can remember, and almost always wake up from a nightmare. sometimes i wake up to a strange sensation that someone is watching me.

Skye Alexander said...

Your experience is pretty common, as you can see from the previous comments. Who do you feel is watching you? Someone from another level of reality? A deceased person/ancestor? A guardian angel or other deity? Or perhaps a fragment of yourself trying to communicate with you? You might want to ask this "someone" who's there and what s/he wants. Sometimes the "watcher" brings insights or information that can be useful to you in your waking life, or may alert you to something you need to pay attention to. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hello, 2;45 - 3:00 am
I do have good dreams but I am not here to speak of these.
I have been dealing with this for around fifteen years now. At best I wake up in a pool of sweat terrified of my nightmare unable to discern reality from the dream. At worst it has manifested into physical attacks from feeling a heavy compression on my chest or a hand on my neck chocking me. I have woken up to the feeling of being burned by electricity only to find a handprint on my back or a bruise where I felt the pain. I have been woken up like this to find a gaseous entity hovering over me. Blacker than black, shapeless and figureless. When I awoke and saw this I felt its intentions. This scared me more than anything as I felt the pure evil intent and indifference to me. I believe it fed off the terror it caused me. It returned a few times in the same week and I had become too exhausted to be afraid anymore and told it im not afraid and im going to sleep. I found that this worked and it went away. I also fount that this creature hates light any kind of light. So I slept with the tv on for years. I have been clean of the manifestation and physical attacks for years now but the dreams continue. Always between 2:45 and 3:30 am.
I believe my soul leaves my body in a deep sleep and that's when these things get into my dreams. When I have good dreams I feel like I have been somewhere cool and seen things that are wonderful. Does anyone know how to stop the nightmares for good?

Skye Alexander said...

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Pretty amazing stuff! The handprints and bruises you describe are dramatic representations, akin perhaps to stigmata. First let me say that I agree with your belief that some part of you (whether you chose to call it soul, spirit, etc.) leaves the body during the night and journeys elsewhere, and during these journeys it may encounter all sorts of other realities. Second, I think that lots of entities (both benevolent and malevolent) coexist with us on this planet and elsewhere. We are more likely to become aware of them while dreaming than when we're awake because our minds are more receptive when we're asleep. Third, I think that all evil feeds on fear, whether the "evil" is physical or nonphysical. Like attracts like. The fact that the "creature" went away when you refused to succumb to fear supports this idea.

Have you tried asking the entities who visit you why they're showing up and what they want? Sometimes nonphysical beings try to convey messages to us or appear for other reasons, and they find it easier to contact us through dreams. Some sources also say that past-life experiences bleed through during sleep/dreams, so you may be revisiting scenarios from other lives.

You might want to read about shamanic journeying, also about incubuses and succubuses. Myths and folklore about vampires, gargoyles, and other strange beings could have roots in experiences like yours. The Seth Material (channeled by Jane Roberts in the 1970s) has some interesting stuff about supernatural entities communicating with us during dreams. Meditation can sometimes help you revisit dreams in a more gentle way and gain insight into them.

I wish I had an answer to your question about banishing nightmares forever, but I don't. I don't know if you're taking any medications, but I found that during a two-year period when I was taking prescription antidepressants I had nightmares every night, all night long. As soon as I stopped taking the meds the nightmares stopped.

Again, thanks for writing in. Does anybody else out there have any ideas about all this?

Anonymous said...

Skye
Thank you for answering and sorry for not addressing you directly.
I agree with all that you have said. I am no stranger to shamanism
or succubus and all of the other descriptions of entities through time. I do not take any medications especially antidepressants.
I do not believe in antidepressants and have seen what they do to people. If I were to talk to a shrink this would be their answer.
I have however eaten my far share of mushrooms and the like. I have not participated in any drug use for close to ten years now for the simple reason that I have been to that mountain top enough times. I do not meditate because I believe this opens the door for anything to come in as can mushrooms and the like. I wish there was a way to filter what comes through and this is what I am after. To block the bad and except the good. This is very hard to do in a deep sleep!
I have been tortured with bad dreams the last 3 weeks and just wish it to stop. Always at 245 to 330 am. This timeframe to me is too coincidental to dismiss. Would sage help?
Any type of evil blocker that you would suggest? Thank you for your time and your website I found it at 330 am last night. Imagine that!
Its comforting to know others have the same issues!

Skye,
I have been thinking of my nightmares and situations it leads to (more lack of proper sleep) and an idea hit me in the shower like a lighting bolt. Here is my idea and I would like your thoughts on it.
Here goes, As we go through the daily grind of this materiel life our chakras get worn down through the constant battle(work, money, family, marriage, and on and on) then we go to sleep with our chakras in a run down state. When the veil is thin at the witching hour these entities come in and find us in this weakened state.
They know what our greatest fears are and it make it easy to create a nightmare of our greatest fears and then sit back and feed on the terror it causes. My solution is to release my greatest fears. For me my fears are (loss of the ones I love, That some harm may come to them I cannot stop it, fear of the unknown) just to name a few. My last nightmare consisted of me being in the largest mall I have ever seen or imagined. I turned my head for a second and my 2 year old son was gone. I spent the remainder of this dream searching frantically through this maze of a mall looking for my son in terror. Then I woke up in a pool of sweat no surprise here at 245 am.
I hope this works for me and it might help others with the same affliction. My simple solution is to release these unfounded fears so their is nothing to prey on.
Thank you

Thanks again for sharing your experiences. You might want to consider a technique discussed by Carlos Castenada, called recapitulation at the end of the day. This helps you release the energies you pick up from other people during the day, so they don't drag you down. Reiki can help you strengthen your chakras, as might color or sound healing.

In my opinion, fear is the greatest energy drain of all. Sometimes we dream about the things we fear most in order to learn how to deal with those fears. If you truly believe that some outside entity is bothering you, you might try envisioning yourself surrounded by pure white light before going to sleep. Or, you could create an amulet to put under your pillow (or wear it) while you sleep. My recent book "The Modern Guide to Witchcraft" and some of my other books describe ways to protect yourself psychically.

Good luck!

Hello all, I'm a very spiritual person and a few years ago(2011) I awoke at 3.15am from a dream that my Sister had died. I saw her grave stone of which the month and year were blurry but the day said 25th. Now for the spooky part! On Feb 25th 2012 I went into labour at 3.15 am, my child was born at 3.15pm that day and the following April my Dear Mother passed away at....3.15PM...25TH!!! I think this is more than a coincidence.

Thanks for writing Sara. I don't think there are any coincidences.

I wake up at 3:15 every day, before i wake up I'm dreaming of hurting or killing other people. My nephew passed away in 12/12/12 and he always shows up in my dream asking where his mom is,I walk into the kitchen and see My mom sitting at the table.I ask her where my sister is and she vanishes into thin air.I told my mom this yesterday that I'm having these crazy dreams of hurting others, she told me I need to tell my psych.I told my psych that I'm having these dreams, really want to hurt others. He told Me i need to admit myself into a hospital before I do something I regret,I think it'll follow me where ever I go.I'm at a loss right now, have no sense of reality. What should I do before I hurt anyone or myself?

Ever since I was little I've been more aware of spirits and when ever they are near they often single me out. I've also had a spirit in my life since I was very young. He is very protective over me. I know this because in middle school and high school, he would freak out anytime certain people would sleep in my bedroom. He would freak out by throwing things and opening and closing the door. I could feel his anger. But the weird thing is that every single person that he's has ever freaked out about has eventually done something to hurt me. He has followed me to several different houses. One move, I didn't feel him for a week or two. But everyday I would get a phone call at 3:15 am and pm with just static on the other line. At night I would wake up with bruises and cuts on my body. This all stopped as soon as he came back. It was the most terrifying thing I've ever gone through. At my 18th birthday party, I just had a few girls spend the night. I told them about him and they thought it would be funny to name him Toby after the paranormal activity movie. Two days later, I woke up with a T lightly carved into my hip. I've started to feel Toby around less and less and I'm terrified that the physical pain will start again. I've also been having nightmares this past week and wake up at 3:15am on the dot. Can someone please tell me why Toby is in my life and why I'm most sensitive to spirits. Also why is he going away again and why do all these weird things happen when he does go away. Please help.

Skye Alexander said...

I can see why you feel scared, Rachel. Have you asked "Toby" why he's in your life and what he wants? Often we can speak directly to spirits and they will respond. You might also try doing some protection practices before going to sleep, such as envisioning yourself surrounded by white light. (Many of my books describe various protection options.) I believe we all have guardians who watch out for us and offer guidance. You could try calling on one or more of those for assistance. Perhaps you could speak with a psychic or medium who can communicate with Toby and help you get answers.

This was not a dream cos I was wide awake, it was 3am and I went outside for a cigarette. I heard a strange distant pinging sound like a submarine noise it was kind of coming from the sky but far away. It went on for a while, really freaked me out and I can't stop thinking about it. What was it, anyone else heard it?

Skye Alexander said...

You might have heard some type of spirit(s), Alison. Fairies (not the little DIsney Tinker Bell kind) are known to make ringing sounds. One man who read my book "Fairies: The Myths, Legends, & Lore" wrote to tell me he'd heard bells ringing when he wandered deep into the woods into fairy territory. I've heard sounds like those you describe and also sometimes awake at night and smell the scents of departed loved ones. Lots going on out there that defies ordinary definition! Thanks for sharing your experience.

I was born at 3 am on a Friday and I always for as long as I could remember wake up between 3 and 4 am every night. I used to have visions that would come to past as well as dreams. The dreams usually would be nightmares of pain or death. I prayed to stop having them and I no longer do; however, waking up in the middle of the night have not stopped. I've also experienced paralysis during my sleep while something was performing sexual acts on me. This was since I was around the age of 13. It would happen quite often but have decreased to about once a year. I know that once I've spoken to a psychic about another issue and he told me I had a gift of sight. I did not understand completely then but now that I'm older I think he meant that I could see people true intentions. I've always been able to do that and feel their emotions when they tried to hide it. I hate it sometimes because it have caused me to shy away from people. Anyway, I'm wondering does my awakening at 3 something each night have anything to do with my sensitivity or my birth?

Perhaps both, although as you can see from the number of people who've posted on this blog, it's pretty common to wake up at that time. It's amazing what people recount about their dreams and other experiences during this mysterious time of the night. Regarding the entities that you recall engaging in sex with you while you're asleep, you might want to read up on incubuses and succubi. Thanks for sharing this with us!

You all fear what is not explained, and simply what is a mistery to your developed brain. The human brain is a simple machine that runs a lot of the time on instinct, and what is instinct? , well the best way to survive or keep on living, to prolong existence. If you are scared of demons or any negative force simply find a powerful word that counteract s that felling

Well in my past lifetime, around when I was 10-11 years old, I had woken up at 3:15am,I was being pulled. I got up instantly. I started hearing footsteps, then I heard 3 knocks, I also heard screaming. I turned on the light, a few minutes after, it started flashing. I woke my brother up to stay up until sunrise. It was sunrise, I saw a shadow walk around swiftly. After those many days, I have seen a little girl with black hair near the toilets. I once looked in the mirror and saw half of the little girl. Sometimes I see her around the house. This house was brand new. This land did not have a murder history. I sometimes feel cold spots around the house. I remember seeing the hallway door slightly open. I usually wake up at 3:15 almost every night. I'm used to it now.

If the nightmares are all similar in content, theme, feeling, or style, it seems likely that they carry some important message for you. I suggest you examine the symbols in your dreams and try to gain insight into what the dreams are trying to tell you. You'll find lots of good info in books about dreams as well as online. Hope that helps.

I'm like freaked out...idk

Skye Alexander said...

As you can see from reading the earlier posts, you're not alone! This experience is common, although not widely discussed. You may want to try communicating with the "someone" you sense is watching you and ask what it wants to convey to you. It seems that often spirit beings have something to tell us, and in some cases that's why they appear at a time in the night when we are most receptive to them. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Ashby. Most likely, your house isn't haunted and you're not being followed or stalked by a "devil" or "demon." But a nonphysical entity might be trying to communicate with you--it's easier for spirits to get through to us while we're asleep and our minds are relaxed. Additionally, nightmares are often your subconscious's way of getting your attention. See if you can understand the symbols and meaning in your nightmare. The message might be important to you or be meant to guide you in your waking life. You might also consider keeping a dream journal. If someone on the "other side" is trying to speak to you, you may be able to gain insight through meditation.

What can I do.My boyfriend has a grandfather clock.. It's old and I have gotten used tobthe chimes.. We have been together for a few years and we are engaged.. I moved in with him so the clock was here 1st.. Anyway it plays a little Chime at top of every hour it plays a tune. But at 3am the tune always changes or sounds warped.. And I wake up every time.. The most frustrating part that no matter what happens he doesn't hear it.. Like if I wake him up right before 3 am the clock won't chime cuz we are in bed I can't get him to stand in front of the clock at 3 am so I try to trick him by pushing him or something to wake him.. And it's driving me crazy

Skye Alexander said...

Very interesting, Ryan. My guess is a spirit is trying to contact you--especially considering that your boyfriend doesn't hear the clock's changing tune. It's not uncommon for spirits to fiddle with lights, computers, and such. Has a friend or loved one passed over recently? If so, he or she may want to communicate with you. Or, your spirit guide(s) may have a message for you. The next time it happens, you might try asking if someone wants to talk to you. You may get impressions, smell or sense a presence, see an image, or hear a voice. If that's the case, the clock's weirdness may stop once you pay attention. Try to keep an open mind and don't be afraid. Good luck, and thanks for sharing your story.

My name is crystal and my mum passed away on the 25th of August last year (2015). Since not long before she died I have been having terrrrrrible trouble sleeping basically getting to sleep and then staying asleep but had put it down to just stress. Lately i have noticed that i wake up every night at 2:57am and will toss and turn for ages trying to get back to sleep. Since my mum has died I have noticed 2 white feathers at random times that make no sense as to why they are there...i have heard this can happen when a loved one has tried to contact you from the otherside. I am wondering if perhaps my waking up in the night has anything to do with my mum or if it is all in my head and its stress related. I really have not dealt too well with my mums death as it was cancer that took her and she was my best friend too not just my mother. Im really struggling with the lack of sleep and i need to try sort it out as im at my witts end. Was wondering if you had any advice. Thanks

Skye Alexander said...

Thanks for sharing your experience. It's quite likely that your mum is trying to contact you from the other side, probably to let you know she's okay and loves you and is still in your life even if she's not physical. Our disembodied loved ones often leave feathers, coins, small stones, and other objects for us. Sometimes we hear sounds, smell aromas, and even see those who've gone on before us. As you can see from the comments on this blog, the period around 3:00 in the morning is a popular time for spirits of all sorts to contact us, when the busyness of everyday life is on hold temporarily. Don't be afraid––this can be a wonderful time to receive insights and revelations.

I know how hard it is to "lose" someone you love, and have written a good deal about it. If you want to read any of my posts on the subject, go to my website www.skyealexander.com and click on "Skye's Blog" where you'll find a number of articles about the afterlife and spirit/soul life in general. I am in the process of setting up a new blog devoted to the afterlife called "The Three Wounds of Wisdom" and it will be tied into my website soon––I hope within a month. I invite you to visit me there too.

Skye Alexander said...

My guess is someone or something is trying to communication with you. Spirits often fiddle with computers, phones, lights, TVs, radios, and other electrical gadgets. You might try paying attention to what you were dreaming or thinking immediately before your phone awakened you. You may notice a pattern or connection, or perhaps get an answer or insight that's meaningful.

I only sleep about 4 hours a night due to an over-production of adrenaline in my body so my normal sleep schedule is between about 5:30 am to around 9:30 am. I've attempted changing it but that has become almost impossible. I have always coped with being "finely tuned" even when I was little and have had "presences" around me often. Most around me these days are very strong (weaker things tend to steer clear...I think they can sense the danger from the stronger things too) I have tried asking multiple times what they wanted. Sometimes I get answered in English (my language) and other times in foreign languages (which I have had some luck recently being able to decipher via the internet and is usually translated in either Hebrew, Latin, Greek or Aramaic and is sometimes biblical in nature or at least religious in nature though some things I don't really understand) I am a Christian but have some education in other faiths and am not at all judgmental towards anyone...that being said...when something tells me that it wants me to sever my "silver cord" and I have to do it myself because I have the ability to become a "gateway"...I know that doesn't sound like a good thing. I have been dealing with this stuff all my life though (not by choice). I've had my house and body and belongings blessed, I sleep with a Bible, I know the word in great detail, but nothing has helped rid me of them. I have been bruised, burned and even thrown up a flight of stairs. But recently, I have been blacking out sometime between 2 & 3 am and coming back around between 4 & 5 am. To my knowledge, this hasn't occurred before and it's scaring me. The last time I was watching a movie and when I came to the power in my house was out and I had no clue where I was. It suddenly flicked back on about a half hour after I came to and none of my neighbors experienced a power outage at all. I need to know how to protect myself from these "blackouts". I have learned methods to protect myself to an extent while I'm conscious but I don't even know what I'm doing during these periods of "lost time". Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you - Jennifer

Skye Alexander said...

All that does sound scary, Jennifer. Have you ever talked to a medium about what you're experiencing? Perhaps he or she could give you some insight into who/what these entities are and what they want. They also have all sorts of programs, talks, live interviews, etc. available in their archives; some might be of interest to you. Their website is

I'm assuming you've done things like ask your guardian angels for protection and envisioned yourself surrounded by white light. You might also consider doing some protection rituals. I realize some Christians are reluctant to try these, but if you're open to it you can find some easy ones online as well as in my books. Best wishes, and thanks for sharing your experience.

I have just woken up at 3:50 am and still very spooked! So I had the worst dream, I could feel myself stuck to the bed like there was no way I was getting up like I was super glued to my sheets! Not only that I think I'm a traveler I can watch myself sleep and stuff. I watched myself struggle I could see the hairs stand up and the vein in my forehead pop up.. By my doorway This hunched over black thing with no face was just staring at me like it was nothing....... This may sound stupid but earlier about 7pm my boyfriend's mother called she lives in a whole different country.. I'm in America but she called the house and since he was at work I answered and spoke to her, you know the usual how are you etc.. But not too long ago my boyfriend was telling me about his mom and how she dabbles in whichcraft and black magic! Sounds crazy right ? But my boyfriend then says "oh the good kind" ha!! What?! So I'm not sure if she had anything to do with it but back to the dream I ran into another room and sitting there with my mom and boyfriend you can hear the 3 knocks come closer and something dragging it's feet or whatever they were.. But out of nowhere a figure of light puts their hands on my face and my moms and turns them away from the knocks and boom I'm awake.. Wtf?

This is very fascinating! I just purchased a Fitbit 2 weeks ago and yesterday I was looking at my sleep habits. I noticed that nearly every night I wake at 3:14am. I did not realize I was even doing this as I do not remember waking at all. I generally sleep fairly well with occasional vivid dreams. I am trying to make some sense of this. I thought maybe a spirit was trying to tell me something by recurring numbers but am not sure. Thanks for listening!

Do you write down your dreams? Perhaps, if you gain more insight or have other experiences, you'd be willing to share them here.

Condolences to you, Safeena. Only you can interpret your dreams. It's likely you're reacting to your mother's passing. However, spirits often communicate with us in our dreams--especially in the weeks and months after they leave their physical bodies. I'm posting the following comment for Crystal. I had to edit out the name and email of a person you mentioned in your comments, Crystal, as our policy is not to release anyone's info without his/her permission. Thanks for sharing your story. So sorry about your husband.

HELLO VIEWERS OUT THERE!

my name is Crystal i am a mother of two, i want to quickly use this opportunity to explain this to you out there! its about my husband who was killed by Gun on his way back from work, without hearing a last word from him, is been 1years and 2months now that my husband was killed, ever since then i have not had anything from the police people who says that they are investigating to find out who the killer of my beloved husband is, but ever since then i have been a confuse woman, having bad feelings about this whole thing, because every night in my house i always hear voices in my sleep, before i know what in my sleep i see male hands try to touch me in my sleep, then i will quickly wake up, this has been happening ever since my husband has been buried now, i thought it was normal maybe it was because i think about my late husband a lot that is why this who thing was running through my head, Not knowing my dead husband was trying to communicate with me in Person, when i see this keep happening to me every night, it was as if i was going crazy i could not bare it so i have to cry out to my mom one morning, arriving to my mom place her friend was there in her apartment who just came to visit her, i could not wait for her friend to leave, because the who matter was so heavy in my heart, i have to open up. it was that same woman my mom friend who visited my mom that morning who told us something similar to our conversation happens years back to one of her relative, that she has someone who she will like us to contact and explain to, that the man in question is a spiritual man, who connect the dead and the living to have contact to each other, so i contacted him, after giving him all the details he ask for the man excuse me for some minutes, when he write me back he told me what i need to do, Honesty i thought it was wasting of time, i have no choice than to put a try on it, so i explained to him, after he did his consultation i was told that my husband want to make contact with me and make me understand who is responsible for his death, so the man told me what to do and of which i did, a night after i did exactly what this man told me, when i fall at sleep, i cant believe what i saw, behold it was my husband with tear on his face and blood all over him, it was like i was in the other side of the world that night, he started talking to me, my husband explain everything to me, not knowing this man who my husband call his best friend was the one who is responsible for his death, he pay some drugs head people to kill my husband for him, this same man was coming often to check on me and the kids asking me so many details about my dead husband, but i never suspected him because he was acting nice and kind to me and the kids, after a night my husband speak to me two days after this man confess how he pay some group of boys to murder my husband, and some hiding property of my husband was review to us too, Today i try to put it into written what i have been through in life, your love ones are out there crying trying so hard to make contact with you and show you things you never know about him before his/her death, you can know all this and help them achieve there dreams in life, } thanks to you all that take your time to read from me.......

I woke up today at 3.17 after a vivid nightmare. A lot of negative stuff happened in this dream but the most prominent things was a man who's feet were submerged in black tar and fire. The fire got larger and he looked up at me and stood up. The moment he stood up there were hundreds of people around me going crazy, fighting with each other and causing mayhem. Total carnage. I tried to wake myself but couldn't snap out of it. When I did wake up I felt like someone was there in the room and it didn't feel good at all. I looked at my phone to see what time it was and it was 3.17. So I went downstairs and googled 3:17. It said "god didn't send his son into the world to condemn it, but to save it". I'm not usually religious but I think maybe this dream and the time I woke up was a message. Don't know what to believe tbh. Thanks for listening guys. Much appreciated

Skye Alexander said...

Thanks for commenting, Kev. Many vivid dreams bring messages to us, but I believe only the dreamer can accurately interpret the dream. Don't know where you live, but here in the US we're experiencing lots of upset and increased hate crimes connected with the election of Donald Trump--and many of his supporters claim to be Christians. Don't know if this has any meaning related to your dream, it's just a thought. Do any others out there have thoughts to share with Kev?

I have had vivid dreams for over a yr...mine of which are actually me. I am awakened between 1-3:3030am almost every morning...at times I am scared or can't breath. Not once am I at peace or calm. I hear and feel things constantly in my room yet no one else does, not even the father of my children who sleeps in the same bed as me. I do not have these experiences elsewhere. My sister believes that this is caused due to people on the other side are trying to tell me their stories and that I am sensitive. Can anyone help me please?

Skye Alexander said...

Thanks for sharing your experiences. As you can see from reading the other comments on this blog, you're not alone, even though the people in your immediate circle don't see or hear what you do. It's quite possible that beings on the other side are trying to communicate with you--it's easier for them to do it when you're not distracted by everyday busyness. If you can, try asking whomever you sense is there what he or she wants. Sometimes spirits bring messages or offer guidance, sometimes they're people you knew in this lifetime or another incarnation and they want to make contact with you, to let you know they're OK. They rarely seek to harm you. Hope this helps.

15 years ago I shared a house with a ghost. I would wake up at 3.15 sharp every single night and he would be there. Even picked me up from the bed one time. I moved out after a while as it was scaring me a lot.
Nothing happened since, until this summer when one of my best friends hung himself. Soon after I started waking up at 3.15 again. It happens every night but all I experience is a little cool air and goosebumps. How can I find out if my friend is trying to reach out to me?

Skye Alexander said...

Thanks for writing, Larry. Sorry to hear about your friend. IMO, it's quite likely he's trying to contact you. Spirits often reach out to us at that time of night, when our minds are relaxed. If you feel comfortable doing it, you might ask the presence you sense if he's your friend and see if you get a response. He may be trying to let you know he's okay or that he's sorry he hurt you by leaving earth. I've had lots of experiences with ghosts/spirits and never find it scary or weird. You could contact a medium if you want to get in touch with your friend, but good ones can be pretty expensive. Hope you can get answers from your friend.

Hi I've been having thesel trully scary nightmares for years, this year has been the worst. I've done some research and dream parlays is definitely what I'm experiencing. It only happens at night mostly around 1:00 and 4:00 am. First my health has been an issue so I am on lots of medication but don't think that's the cause, because I take this medication thruought the day and doesn't happen in the daytime, anyway it starts with getting into bed everything seems fine, for no reason I start to feel of something negative in the room. I then start to feel being watched ,i try to stay awake but usually my eyes get to heavy and I fall asleep all along holding my cross which hangs around my neck. Then it begins I feel like I'm being held down, cannt move, i try to yell for help, but my wife who is laying next to be always says she never years me, last night same thing happend except I heard a light whisper over and over saying daddy ,i remember saying what but know one was there, i kept falling asleep right away then heard louder daddy. I forced myself awake and jumed up cause I have two boys, they were both fast asleep. If u can give advice please help. I'm a big guy came close to death many times but this is the most scary, petryifing thing that has ever happened and it won't stop. PLEASE HELP

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. As you can see from the other posts people have shared here, you're not alone in what you've witnessed. This period at night is when our rational, conscious, left-brain minds are relaxed so it's easier for us to receive communication from other sources and nonphysical beings--angels, guides, spirits, departed loved ones and ancestors. Although it can be disconcerting to hear from someone/something unfamiliar in the middle of the night, most of these beings don't wish us harm. Demonic interference is pretty rare, despite what Hollywood portrays. However, spirits may be trying to connect with us to offer information or for other reasons--and because we're not prepared for this sort of thing it can upset us.

It's also possible that your subconscious is trying to relay information to you that you aren't aware of consciously. You may want to ask whoever is contacting you (whether it's your subconscious or a spirit being) what it wants. It may also help to start writing about what you experience in these nighttime visitations to see if there's a "trail" to follow. Explore what "daddy" means to you and who is saying this--does it relate to your own childhood? Your ideas about parenting? The possibilities are many. I went through a period of having repeated, frightening dreams that revealed an important part of my childhood that I had forgotten about consciously. If you're open to consulting with a therapist who works with dreams, you may wish to get a professional opinion.

Best wishes to you, and thanks again for getting in touch. Perhaps others who've posted here will have ideas to share with you.

Dear Skye,

I thought I was alone, and this experiences scared the wits out of me.But every time I will have a bad lucid dream..I will wake up at 3:10-3:15. So many times it happens and the last time was today.I felt someone is looking at me and my face was hot.The last 2 occasions the entity was shaking me and said "moved away from our home"..It was so scary I cannot go back to sleep till it is 6 am. CAN this entity hold things too? I sure remember waking up at the sound of daughters ride on car making music at 3:15 am.

I am glad I found your blog. THANK YOU.

P.s. my 5 year old daughter feels the entity too..sometimes it touches her at night she told me.How to ward it off please.

Thank you
Fatima

Skye Alexander said...

Hi Fatima, well as you can see you're not alone. More than 30,000 people have viewed this post and many have been kind enough to share their experiences. It's not surprising that you awake at this time, because it seems this is a period when our creative, intuitive minds are open to receiving info from other realms of experience. During this time, spirits, angels, guides and guardians, ancestors and departed loved ones find it easier to communicate with us, when our rational, busy, everyday minds are resting. For many of us, this can be disconcerting because such communications lie outside our ordinary everyday waking experience. But I hope you won't be afraid, because this happens to huge numbers of people and has for thousands of years.

You might try asking the being(s) who's speaking to you what it wants, what it has to tell you, who it is, etc. Often spirits present themselves to us because they have info they believe will be useful to us. For example, what does "moved away from our home" mean to you? In other cases, such dreams can be the subconscious speaking to you, perhaps revealing things from your past that you'd forgotten about. It may help to write down your experiences and thoughts in a dream journal and see where the trail leads. Do any of the rest of you out there have thoughts to share with Fatima?

Paralysis as you described seems to be a common occurrence, as you can see from reading some of the other comments to this post. Thanks for sharing your experience. Would others who've had this experience like to communicate here with Amod?

Hello, I am writing in concern to my daughter who is 13. She has been experiencing a reoccurring nightmare for 3 weeks now. In the dream, there are several faceless versions of herself attempting to attack her. She wakes at 3:23am ever night. She experienced this dream a year ago where only one faceless self was chasing her. It stopped for almost a year and has since returned. She is barely sleeping and her "Dr" instructed her to pray it away..... insight please

Skye Alexander said...

Thanks for sharing your daughter's experience. Many dream researchers say that all the beings who appear in our dreams represent facets of ourselves, often parts we don't understand or acknowledge. You may benefit from reading the work of psychoanalyst Carl Jung.

Does anyone else out there have ideas to share?

Believe me I woke up last night around 3:10 and I heard a creepy dark laughter when I was in the bathroom. My dog was with me and I saw it looking slightly behind me when I left I turned the lights off and I heard the laugh

For somdays now I have be waking up at 3:47 to 3:57am every day and as soon as am awake I am always thirsty and I go and fetch water to drink. I don't know why its happening please any advice cause am a lil bit freak out when I read a paranormal article saying something is watching u while u sleep that's y u wake up cause the thing might have been steering for a long time.

Skye Alexander said...

Andrew, most likely you wake up at that time because your nocturnal rhythms are shifting, which happens to many people. I could be related to paranormal activity but it's probably a perfectly natural situation. Thanks for writing.

She is actually not doing a thing the bible says there are no ghost that when our earthly body passes we are put in a deep slumber we can not think hate love or anything else either until the return of jesus it's in the book of Luke he says beware of those who claim to speak with the dead and sorcerers. What it sounds like is a demon had attached it's self to her but once she passed it needed a new place person or thing to be a bother to or attach it self too and it seeks out the purest of heart and most sensitive to emotions and fear after all they feed off those very things and often cause negative vibes feelings thoughts and dreams.... just speak of God and rebuke it without fear of it,,I know it sounds corny but it's true and both good and evil are real and present☺

Skye Alexander said...

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I assume you're responding to the comments of "Anonymous" posted on March 27, 2017. Many spiritual traditions around the world have varying ideas about discarnate entities. Making an assumption that an entity is a "demon" may not be helpful or accurate. I hope the girl's mother will continue seeking help from qualified professionals, not only the doctor who told the girl to "pray it away." Prayer may be beneficial, but other options may exist too.

I woke up around 3:00 Am due to a nightmare I had. I can't recall exactly what it was about but I remember it having some haunting things or demonic beings. When I woke up I was terrified for a few minutes then I checked my phone and it was 3:16AM. I heard soft footsteps in my hallway and I stared out my door and I believe I saw a figure but I can't recall. I hid my face in my pillow and hid under my blankets trying to calm myself down so I could sleep. I don't know if I'll sleep good tonight. But I better see the sun outside my window when I wake up tomorrow, and not some unwanted presence.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Often spirits appear to us in our sleep, sometimes to convey messages and sometimes just to visit. Our loved ones who've left the physical world check in on us to make sure we're OK and to let us know they're still with us. Has someone you know passed recently? Do you have loved ones on the other side? Sometimes we see ghosts who haven't made the transition to the Oneness yet, It's rare to be visited by a demon. If it happens again, you might consider asking the visiting entity who it is and why it's there.

Hiya.I lost my sister back in May this year.It was sudden.less that 2 days before she past away when we were talking over the messenger and laughing away.
Since then most nights my dog is being restless at night and just keep walking up and down outside my bedroom, and he doesn't want to go out for toilet.I have noticed that everytime he does this as if there is someone there or I will have a dream about my sister or become restless.last night as I was fast asleep suddenly I sat on my bed catching my breath and saw like a series of dotted lines of green and yellow then I look at the clock it was exactly 3:15 am.since then I couldn't go back to sleep as if there's someone in my room I just couldn't point my finger on it .Can you please advise me on this one .I just need to know what's happening to me???
Many thanks

Skye Alexander said...

It sounds to me like your sister is trying to contact you to let you know she's OK. Spirits often do that, especially in dreams and at night when you're not busy with outer world activities. If you wish, try talking to her -- she may "speak" back to you. (Animals, as you probably know, tend to be more sensitive to these things than humans, so no surprise your dog feels restless.)

Every now and then I'll wake up between 3:04 and 3:20; I can't move or talk. Sleep paralysis. But this is accompanied by a noise like someone is gurgling right next to my ear, or I'm being attacked, or even once I got shot in the face. Some of those times I feel like someone is grabbing me but mostly it is terrifying. Why at the same time though, since sleep paralysis happens when the brain is waking up but the body is not. I should be in my deepest sleep at 3am...and both my kids have night terrors. I do believe someone or something won't leave us alone!

Skye Alexander said...

Sleep paralysis isn't uncommon and, as you say, occurs when the mind is waking up but the body is still in sleep mode. It's possible a spirit--perhaps that of a deceased relative or friend--is trying to contact you. Spirits on the other side often try to communicate with us, but in most cases these aren't demons or some other being that's trying to harm you. They may be trying to give you a message or may want to let you know they're still with you. People often fear what they don't understand, so you may want to consider reading some good books about the spirit realm, life after death, etc. such as Dr. Raymond Moody's "Life After Life." You can also read articles on my blog 3woundsofwisdom.blogspot.com

I wouldn't even know where to start in regards to my experiences with the 'extraordinary, but let's just say it's been both positive and very negative. For years now it's been quiet, perhaps because I've shut my minds eye completely. But recently, and why I find myself googling "315"; I awoke screaming this number after a very lucid and dark dreamstate. In this dreamstate I was refusing a demonic influence by professing a reciprocal love with God, and a proclamation of how my mother wouldn't allow it anyhow (haha). What I find particularly intriguing about this, is the multiple and important biblical references this correlates with, and how the passages seem to relate to what I saw and was saying. If attended church or had ever read the bible this might not seem too unusual, but this isn't the case. I have never read the bible and haven't been to church since I was a child 30 years ago. And no, it wasn't 3:15am, although it was just past 3:30. These 3am wake ups aren't unusual to me, nor the bizarre lucid terrors. But awakening and yelling out loud what immediately felt like a bible verse is something to think about.
